Meet the Branch Manager
Camilo Duque
For over 24 years, Camilo Duque has been working for First County Bank, a $1.3 billion independent mutual community bank headquartered in Stamford, offering deposit products, mortgages, trust and investment services, business banking services and online banking. In his current position as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager, Camilo is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the First County Bank branch located at 2950 Summer Street, in Stamford CT.
Camilo is very well known within the Hispanic community in the Stamford area, and he is very interested in helping Hispanic business owners grow their business and achieve their goals. Camilo’s commitment to the Hispanic community has allowed him to become more involved with the overall business community in our area. “Camilo has exemplified his dedication to the community through his involvement in many volunteer activities,” said First County Bank Executive Vice President Katherine A. Harris*. Camilo Duque is a key component in the re-establishment of our chamber; for him, the keys for success rely on hard work and discretion. “I started to work as a bank teller and worked my way up the organization in many different positions to become a branch manager”. It is also very important for Camilo to reach out to the youth and provide them with a strong foundation based on smart decision-making and ethical principles. He has volunteered on various banking education programs teaching children the principles of financial planning “Camilo is a kind hearted individual who has been inspired to do everything he can to enhance the community. These same qualities make Camilo a valuable asset to the bank and a trusted banker to our customers,” added Harris.* Camilo considers one of his biggest challenges is to remain optimistic in spite of any obstacles, including the current status of our economy. “Challenges are part of life, you have to be ready and apply yourself and bring the best in you, every day”. Camilo takes pride in his job and in the history of First County Bank: “First County Bank has been here, in Lower Fairfield County for 160 years, and we are here to meet our customer’s financial needs....and not many Financial Institutions can say that!”
