Meet the Board of Directors

The Greater Stamford Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce Inc. was established in 2001 by a group of business people and professionals who felt there was a lack of resources for this business community. "Our mission is to educate, promote and encourage the interaction of all Hispanic and non-Hispanic business in the greater Stamford area and to serve as active and visible advocate for Hispanic business, professionals and/or merchants." Greater Stamford Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce, Inc. is an action Agency designed to meet the socio-economic needs of the Hispanic and non Hispanic business community. It is a non-profit organization where business people and professionals band together as members to advance the commercial, financial, industrial and civic interest of our community. It serves to enhance the visibility of Hispanic business and professionals throughout the State, promote communication and the sharing of information and resources among our members and the community. The resources of G.S.H.C.C. are endless and by becoming a member of this grassroots organization you will tremendously enrich your own business and meet the needs of our community as well.

    Agustin has made Stamford, CT his home since he migrated with his family from Peru in 1991. Agustin is equally passionate about his Peruvian heritage just as much as he is proud to be a practicing professional in the U.S. The oldest son of a hard working Peruvian family, Agustin graduated from Stamford High school, he then proceeded to undertake a career in banking, which led him to earn various degrees in Computer Applications and Business Management. He achieved his higher education from Norwalk Community College and Westchester College. He currently lives in Fairfield, Connecticut and loves his job with Darien Bank & Trust, also in Connecticut, as Assistant Branch Manager.

    Eneas Freyre takes immense pride on his Latino heritage, he is a native of Media Luna, Oriente, in Cuba. Eneas holds a Master Degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizoana and a Bachelor of Art in Business from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana. Eneas Freyre specializes in financial planning, creation of wealth and protection of assets and is a member of NAIFA. Overall, Eneas Freyre posses an impressive amount of knowledge in the financial industry that covers nearly 40 years of expertise. At the present moment, Eneas has his office at the Westchester General Office for New York Life Insurance</em> and resides in Greenwich, CT.

    Roberto Colón was born and raised in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. He obtained his High School Diploma from the Aibonito High School and joined the US Army, where he served for three years; including 18 months in the Republic of South Vietnam. Roberto obtained a Bachelor Degree in accounting from the Inter American University in San Juan of Puerto Rico; he also worked for the Department of the Treasury in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico as a Income Tax Auditor for 7 years. In 1986, Roberto moved to Stamford, CT where he worked on different companies, occupying different positions that include Account Payable Clerk for Waldenbooks , and as a Staff Accountant for SiberHegner LTD, (a Swiss Import-Export Company). Roberto joined SSARIS Advisors LLC (a financial advisors firm), on 1992 as a staff accountant and eventually promoted as a Controller of the firm. Roberto has recently completed his MBA in accounting from the Sacred Hearth University in Fairfield, CT. A strong supporter of community service, Roberto possess a wide experience as a committee and board member for other local organizations including ASPIRA of Connecticut, Puertorican Association of Stamford and the Waterside Green Condominium Association.

    Eva Padilla has been widely recognized in the city of Stamford for her involvement with the community, which ultimately, has made her the recipient of the the Community Leadership Recognition award (2009). Additionally, Ms. Padilla has earned multiple grants for the support of cultural programs she represents. Though she was born in Puerto Rico and is highly proud of her Caribbean heritage, Ms.Padilla is a long time citizen of the City of Stamford, and all along, she has been able to build bridges of integration with mayors of either political party. For Ms. Padilla, public service has always been embedded in her mind and spirit; she holds a master in Psychology and Business Administration, her experience covers many years as a social worker for public institutions, including The Stamford Health Department, through which she managed to established some very important, and free of charge benefits for the community, including counseling for HIV transmitters, mammogram assistance for women in need, and support for victims of domestic violence. Ms. Padilla has always cherished the performing arts, in addition to her social involvement with the community, she is also the executive director of Raices, a theatre group that focuses on Hispanic Art and Culture. She's also an active member of CRISOL, a non-profit organization whose main objective is to advocate for the needs of new Hispanic immigrants. Ms. Eva Padilla has always been involved with the development of the Hispanic community, she has witnessed it's growth from the beginning, and having her as a member of The Greater Stamford Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is an incredible privilege and source of inspiration.
  • Deborah Arrieta

    Deborah Arrieta posses excellent interpersonal skills, she works for the City of Stamford, Health Department; where she specializes on HIV prevention programs, through which she participates in various departmental AIDS education and outreach projects. Her passion for social involvement has led her to become an active volunteer for multiple organizations, including The Hispanic Politic Action Committee (HPAC), The Peruvian-American Community Center and The Hispanic Advisory Board. Deborah also provides assistance and support to the Connecticut Infoline, The Head Start Program and K.T Murphy Elemental School. Deborah is also a business owner, she is the owner of Horus Jewelry, a Jewelry & Accessories business for which its inventory is completely exported from Peru. She is well known in the community and has accomplished many tasks as a director event coordinator for different organizations with great success, including Señorita Belleza Latina, a pageant contest that focuses on the empowerement of young hispanic women in our area.
  • Camilo Duque

    Camilo Duque is currently an assistant vice president and branch manager at First County Bank, for whom he has been working since 1987. Born in Ecuador, Camilo Duque is a Norwalk resident, he graduated from The Connecticut School of Finance and Management in 2003 and attended Norwalk Community College. He is also a graduate of Stamford High School and an active member of The Stamford community; he volunteers at various Hispanic community events and causes, including being a mentor at The Toquam Magnet School and at The Yerwood Center, where he teaches the importance of savings and planning for children ages 8 to 12 through The Banking Education Program. On June 19, 2010, Camilo was awarded withThe Hearts of the Community Lifetime Achievement Award at The First Annual Hearts Ball event, hosted by The Yerwood Center. Camilo is known for being driven to create opportunities for others to succeed.

    Luis Cadena is one of the founding members of The Stamford Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, in which he has worked as a treasurer and remains optimistic that the new board will provide excellent representation for the Hispanic small business owner doing business in the area of Stamford. In addition to GSHCC, Luis is also a founding and equally active member of the Ecuadorian Civic Comitte in Lower Fairfield County for which he currently works as trearurer. Luis and his wife Silvia support multiple charitable, Christian organizations in their native Ecuador as well as in the U.S.
